I'm bringing Fridays back...but where's Timberland?

On the day after the Leafs beat the 'Bleu Blanc et Rouge'  2-0, not even Rebecca Black swinging from the hair of Willow Smith could bring me down. What did bring me down recently though is the unfortunate passing of Steve Jobs. Ultimately, he was cooler than Bill Gates, and any human being who personifies 'cool' (myself included) knows that it takes a long time to grow into it.

For a long time Billy boy was like Apollo Creed. Apollo was challenged but no one could top him - he remained the champ. Steve Jobs was like Rocky. He could always fight, but knew timing was everything. Then the day came when the Italian Stallion got his chance. He trained for months leading up to the bout, and lost his first time through. This could be compared to the 'Macintosh" era of what is now known as Apple. Well guess what! Our home boy Jobs - not unlike the great Balboa himself - learned from his first series of punches, and came back for a second tilt. We know how that turned out...

The circle of life will go on. A massive innovator like Jobs will no longer grace us with his tools of efficiency. But if Rocky 5 taught us anything, it's that eventually the day will come when you are knocked off the top of the mountain. It's up to the new CEO and former COO of Apple Tim Cook to make sure Apple doesn't cry "ADRIANNNNNN!!!!!" anytime soon. I hope you enjoyed this off-keel read ad; until then, this is the 'Nation talkin' 'bout the situation.
